Since the release of her newest album Sweetener, Ariana Grande has been frequently spotted without her signature ponytail. After literally letting her hair down on the album's official release day, the singer was once again spotted rocking a new look, and it is giving us serious Sailor Moon vibes.
As pointed out by People, Ariana spent her Monday (August 27) evening in Brooklyn, enjoying a slice of pizza with fiancé Pete Davidson. While we typically expect to see the singer rocking her traditional updo, Ariana was once again without her ponytail. For the pizza outing, Ari chose to wear her hair split into two space buns. The part in her hair was centered, with the buns positioned atop her head. The hairstyle was very much reminiscent of one frequently sported by our favorite hero, Sailor Moon. Of course, Ariana's version came without the cartoon character's longer accompanying pigtails.
Ariana's makeup proved equally as chic, too. She paired the playful hair choice with a red lip and her trademark cat eye.
Meanwhile, Ariana chose to keep it casual with her outfit for the evening, wearing a Louis Vuitton crossbody, an oversized grey sweatshirt, and matching pants. She also seemed to be trying out the dad sneaker trend with her bright white athletic shoes.
The "R.E.M" singer might have chosen to ditch her ponytail for the date, but her long hair likely isn't going anywhere. Ari previously told The Fader how much the hairstyle meant to her, saying, "The pony has also gone through an evolution, and I'm proud of that. Old pony? I don't know if she's that girl. But new pony? I like her. I mean, it's like a Victoria's Secret angel without angel wings. It's still her without them, but when she's with them it's like, 'Ohh, I get it, she's an angel.'"
