Lucy Hale Reveals the $34 Matte Sunscreen She Never Leaves Home Without

Lucy Hale washes her face four times a day and has a 15-step skin-care regimen, which means the actress is completely unique when it comes to her beauty routine — in every way except one. Her favorite nail polish is Essie’s Ballet Slippers, the same shade beloved by Queen Elizabeth II, Kate Middleton, and newly engaged people the world over.

"I love Essie nail polishes. When it comes to colors, I typically keep it natural," Hale explained to People in a new interview, citing Ballet Slippers as her favorite shade. It’s the only polish the queen ever wears, not to mention the shade Kate Middleton wore on her wedding day. If the same drugstore nail shade manages to suit both a CW star and the Queen of England, it's worth picking up at your local drugstore.

Hale also dished on her favorite hair masks, saying when she travels she must pack Kristin Ess Strand Strengthening Reconstructive Moisture Mask. "When I travel, the water is so drastically different than what my hair is used to, so I have to make sure that I bring a deep conditioning mask. This one [created by] my hairstylist Kristin Ess is really amazing," she explains. The mask is sold at Target, so anyone can get their hands on it, even if Ess isn't your actual stylist.

Her list of top travel beauty products and tips also includes basics like daily sunscreen (she prefers SkinCeuticals Physical Matte UV Defense SPF 50), daily toner (she likes Biologique Recherche Lotion P50), and a deodorant that keeps her travel wardrobe stain-free and re-wearable (Degree UltraClear Black+White Pure Clean Dry Spray Antiperspirant Deodorant).

"I never skimp on sunscreen, even when it's cloudy out," she told People. "I love that [SkinCeuticals] has a matte finish."

Finally, she leaves us with a bit of travel beauty advice: Leave with a scent. "I also love buying new fragrances wherever I go to remind myself of the trip that I've gone on," she says. After all, who doesn't want to smell like vacation?
