It’s North West’s fifth birthday! And everybody knows that grandmothers — no matter how many grandkids they have — are the best (and usually the first) when it comes to remembering birthdays. Kris Jenner posted a super-sweet birthday message to North on Instagram — and signed it "Lovey." (That is the best grandmother nickname we’ve ever heard, BTW.)
Jenner captioned her Instagram post: "Happy birthday to our sweet angel North!! I can’t believe you are 5 today! I love you so much, you are the greatest blessing, and it brings me so much joy to watch you grow into such a beautiful, fun-loving, spirited, kind, smart and funny little lady! Love, Lovey."
The picture of North sitting in a car and grinning ear to ear is a keeper for sure. The Kanye West genes are strong with this one — along with her mom’s fashion sense.
Mama Kim Kardashian West also posted a birthday message to her firstborn daughter on Instagram, with a photo from a unicorn-and-sparkles-themed birthday party North shared with her first cousin, Penelope Disick (another summer baby).
In the post, Kardashian West refers to North as her "best friend for life." Aww. Still, we can’t help but notice that North appears to be mixing the ends of her mother’s long hair into her sparkle slime (does not look like accidental hair sliming). We also loved the P.S. from Kardashian West to her girl: "P.S. Now that you’re 5, don’t you think it’s the mature thing to try to be nice to your brother now!?!" Kardashian West is referring, of course, to toddler Saint, who is reportedly not North’s favorite human.
We expect more birthday wishes to hit the internet for North West, but we imagine North’s not worried about that. After all, she’s already gotten the coolest birthday gift ever ahead of her birthday: not one, but two Alexander Wang bags. Pretty sure I got a swimming pool for my Barbies for my fifth birthday. Not bad, North West. And your special day has only just begun.
