Ann Gottlieb — who has worked on fragrances for everyone from Britney Spears to Dior — is being inducted into the Fragrance Foundation’s Hall of Fame. This year marks her 50th in the industry.Gottlieb got her start under Estée Lauder before eventually striking out and starting her own consultancy. “She was the person who really discovered me, Estée,” Gottlieb said. I had no idea that I had a good sense of smell or a marketing head at all.”Now, Gottlieb is behind a full range of scents that appear in everything from fine fragrance to personal-care products — even deodorant. “So many companies I’ve worked with treated fragrance in a more rational way, and I’ve really introduced the emotional part of fragrance,” Gottlieb said.Gottlieb’s appointment was unveiled at the Fragrance Foundation’s Finalists’ Luncheon in New York Friday. Other honors went to model Romee Strijd, who has been named Face of the Year, Gucci Bloom and Coty Inc. for 360-Degree Marketing Campaign of the Year, Miss Dior Eau de Parfum for Social Media Campaign of the Year.
