Yesterday, Miley performed her new break up song ‘Slide Away’ at the MTV VMAs with her rumoured new girlfriend Kaitlynn Carter watching from side of stage before the two attended an after party hand in hand. But it was the new tattoo on the singer’s arm that caught people’s attention due to it almost definitely being about her marriage.
According to PEOPLE, the new ink reads: ‘My head was feeling scared, but my heart was feeling free.’ The sentence is a line from The Pixies’ song ‘The Thing’ and Miley had it done by celebrity tattoo artist Winter Stone.
Taking to Instagram this morning, Winter Stone shared a close-up look at the delicate tattoo, writing, My head was feeling scared, But my heart was feeling Free @mileycyrus always great seeing you lady! Much love!”
Last week, Liam officially filed for divorce from Miley, something she was reportedly not expecting. “She didn’t expect it and is a bit disappointed, but she is still doing well and has obviously moved on as well,” a source told People.
“What she and Liam had for a long time was very special,” they added “It’s just hard for her to think that she will never have this again with Liam. There are really so many things that she loves about him.”
