The Coronavirus pandemic has the world firmly in its grip: More than five million people were infected worldwide with the novel pathogen, Sars-CoV-2 – 181.468 of them so far in Germany.d

More than six million people globally have become infected with the novel Coronavirus. Until Saturday night at least 6.000.867 infection cases were registered as a count by the news Agency AFP revealed on the basis of official information. 366.848 deaths have been counted in connection with the Coronavirus.

Two-thirds of the cases of infection were counted in Europe and the United States. Europe is the hardest hit by the pandemic-affected continent with 2.135.170 Infection and 177.595 dead. With 1.760.740 Infected the USA are the country with the most Corona. There 103.472 people or with a Corona infection died.

Meanwhile, the Virus spreads the fastest in Latin America. There, the number of infection cases increased within 24 hours to 45.000 to 944.695. 49.230 people have died there.
