So obvious! Chrissy Teigen always knew that her husband, John Legend, was going to be a good dad.
“I knew … as soon as I met him,” the Lip Sync Battle cohost, 33, said at the POPSUGAR Play/Ground in New York City on Sunday, June 23. “He’s very warm and loving. I knew he’d be a great father to a daughter because he has so many female friends. He has so much respect for women and he treats them as equals. He’s a sensitive soul, but he’s also business savvy and straight to the point.”
Teigen and the “All of Me” singer, 40, wed in 2013 and welcomed their daughter, Luna, now 3, three years later. She became a big sister in May 2018 when Miles, now 12 months, was born.
Now that the EGOT winner is a father, the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model gushed about his parenting skills. “The way he speaks to our daughter is very interactive and very adult,” she explained. “He’d wake up with me every single time I’d wake up so just I wouldn’t feel like I was alone those first two months of having a baby.”
Not only did the Cravings author know that Legend was going to be fantastic at fatherhood, but she knew that he would be a great partner — although it wasn’t love at first sight.
“We grew together,” Teigen said. “We learned each other’s personalities. He was on tour the first year we were dating and we did our own thing. I never begged him to settle down. Our vibe was the same. I didn’t want him to look back and have regrets about who he wasn’t with or the things he should’ve done. I let him do all that, and now he can’t say s–t.”
