The countdown is on with one year to go until our Aussie athletes compete for gold at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics – and track cycling star Kaarle McCulloch is gearing up for the ride of her career.
She won her first world title at the World Championships earlier this year and took home bronze at the 2012 London Olympics in the team sprint with fellow Aussie Anna Meares.
And after missing out on racing in Rio due to injury, she now has her sights firmly set on Tokyo 2020.
“I’m definitely in a better place than I was pre-Rio, so that’s really exciting,” McCulloch said.
“Things are going really well for me this time around. I became World Champion in February with Stephanie Morton in the Team Sprint, and we’re just getting faster and faster every time we get on the track together.
“So I’m feeling really good, and with a year to go, I think we’re in a good spot.
