Everyone is in quite the rush to get married these days.
One minute, Justin Bieber is trying to win back ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez; the next he’s proposing to Hailey Baldwin in the Bahamas after a “whirlwind rekindled romance.” One minute, Pete Davidson is with Cazzie David; the next he’s turning his Instagram into a shrine to Ariana Grande and proposing to the pop star after a mere month of dating.
But you know who’s not in a rush to walk down the aisle?
The Rock. That’s who.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight in Hong Kong, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson explained that he and girlfriend Lauren Hashian aren’t hurrying to tie the knot — despite rumors that the two have already gotten married in secret.
“I just refer to her as my wife all the time. So a lot of people are like, ‘Oh, did you get married?'” Johnson told ET‘s Kevin Frazier. “I’m like, ‘No. Easy. Don’t rush big daddy.'”
And hey, that’s cool! The couple has built a happy little family, welcoming their second child together, daughter Tiana Gia, in April. (In an interview with Rolling Stone, Johnson said they’d had been planning to get married in Hawaii this past spring, but changed their plans when they learned Hashian was pregnant.) The couple’s older daughter, Jasmine, is 2.
“Mama Lauren is doing great, baby Tia is getting big, baby Jazzy is loving her little sister, and yeah, everything is great,” Johnson told ET.
Johnson and Hashian are proof that it doesn’t necessarily take a ring to show how much you dig your partner. On Mother’s Day, The Rock posted a moving tribute to Hashian on Instagram, calling her “the kindest and sweetest soul you’ll ever meet.”
“Happy Mother’s Day to my main squeeze @laurenhashianofficial, holding my little main squeeze, Jasmine Lia, who’s holding my tiniest main squeeze, Tiana Gia — both our daughter’s middle names are in honor of their great grandmothers, Lia and Giavanna,” he wrote. “I’m in constant respect and grateful awe of all the things this incredible mama accomplishes on a daily basis.”

Managing an ever growing staff of family employees across the country. Picking up the ENTIRE FAMILY, STAFF AND DOG and moving to multiple locations AROUND THE WORLD, throughout the year because of my filming and production schedule. All while continuing to build an amazing career as a music and song writer/producer. As an artist and businessman myself, I recognize how incredibly hard this part is of her job is. She’s a brilliant visionary storyteller and lyrically gifted – all qualities that are hard to tap into when you’re managing this nonstop life of ours. But she does it like a brilliant bad ass. And here’s the best part and the thing I’m most proud of… Lauren does it all with a big genuine smile and is truly, the kindest and sweetest soul you’ll ever meet. People tell me all time after they spend time with her, “Lauren’s the nicest person I have ever met”. I always say, “Yes she is and being nice runs in our family… and so does kicking ass, so don’t ever get on her bad side” Lol. And finally – of all the human beings on this earth she could have as her partner – she chose me. One big, brown, bald, tattooed, very lucky SOB. Happy Mama’s Day Lauren.
